Diddychwy plays The Aussie Bar-B-Q

This Aussie Bar-B-Q always seems to go down well at parties, weddings and funerals. You've got to pick your timing though. Diddychwy tends to play the song after folks have eaten, and not while. When you play the song you'll here Tony Gill introduce it with his particular experience of the Bar-B-Q's. I think he's telling the truth when he mentions how - in his first introduction to the great Australian tradition, - someone spat on the Bar-B. But maybe he's making it up, I could be conditioned to think this way for 'I' (his son) have been hearing this story since I was knee high. We always delight in telling people how it is an Australian (Eric Bogle) who wrote this song. But perhaps the genius in Eric and this song comes from him being an new immigrant at the time, witnessing the strange customs of Australia for the first time. He's certainly picked up on the spirit of things in the Aussie Bar-B-Q.
